Install CyanogenMod7 CM7 on Galaxy Ace S5830

CyanogenMod is Custom firmware which gives you more flexibility and options to tweak your Android Smartphone. CyanogenMod is officially not available for Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830, but thanks to our developer community for making a port of CyanogenMod on to Galaxy Ace. Recently we have discussed about CyanogenMod9 CM9 Android 4.0 ICS ROM for Galaxy Ace, but that has some bugs and definitely not a daily driver as of now. But you have an option of Android 2.3 based gingerbread CyanogenMod7 ROM on you Ace. Read on for details.

Prerequisites

How to install CM7 on Galaxy Ace S5830
  • Copy firmware zip file on SDcard
  • Completely switch off the phone
  • Reboot into ClockWorkMod by pressing Home+Power button and then release only the power button
  • Scroll to Wipe data/factory reset and press home button to select
  • Now goto Install Zip from sdcard >> then select the cm-7.2.0-RC0-GalaxyAce-KANG-signed.zip
  • Thats it... After the process completed reboot your phone.

Enjoy now your phone is running on Android 2.3.7 CyanogenMod CM7.2

    i have cm9 on my galaxy ace now. Can I directly install cm7.2 or should I revert back to gingerbread then still cm7.2 please help

    Hi... I've install cm7 on my SGA... the problem is I don't have market@playstore installed in my SGA... is this cm7 can't support playstore?

    hey i had installd CM7 on my galaxy ace but my market@playstor, my gmail not working .. indeed there is a problem wen i installed CM7 after installation complets it did not ask me for sign in for a gmail account neighter i got the start ur touch screen .. plz help

      do a hard reset.. wipe data and factory reset in CWM

    I have successfuly installed cynogen mode but. der were no apps for music, n gallery. so I downloaded it but I can't set live wallpaper n can set only wallpaper from gallery ....!!!help me...is it gallery prob

      This Rom is only for Ace... however check out XDA forum ... you may find something for Ace Duos

    will this methood work for me.

      yes you can use this ... and if something goes wrong then just flash the stock ROM back, But if you follow the procedure in blog and video... everything will be fine

      thats not the correct procedure to do it.

      now you need to flash a stock rom first and then redo the procedure

    Shalini, does our step one says "Stock or". Does this mean there is no need to root your Ace before following your steps?
