Micromax Funbook P300 User Review

Micromax entered in to INDIAN Tablet market just at the right time with loads of advertising. Micromax Funbook is already most popular entry segment 7 inch Android ICS tablet available in Indian market for just INR 6900. We got a chance to review the 7 inch Micromax Funbook P300. Read on for details.
Micromax Funbook P300 is a WiFi enabled tablet which is targeted towards entry segment of Android Tablet. Micromax is focusing on pre installed content on the TAB, specially the education and entertainment part.

Lets review Micromax Funbook P300 Funbook on different aspects to help you make decision to buy this tablet or not.

Hardware (An Addition in RAM would have been better)
Funbook P300 features a 1.22 GHz Cortex-A8 processor backed up by 512 MB RAM, which is decent enough for the price range. As far as build is concerned, size of the tab (7 inch screen) makes it really easy to hold it in palm.  Its a light weight tablet with silver back. Look wise it will definitely impress you.

Display (Poor Resolution)
Funbook has a 7 inch Capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 800X480p. We feel that resolution is quite low specially when you are featuring it as a multimedia hub. Touch is fine but if you are little overloaded then you may feel that zooming in-out little laggy.

Software (ICS is good)
Funbook runs on Android 4.0.3 Ice cream Sandwich and supports Google Play App store. Having ICS only is not enough, it should perform smooth. But we experienced few force closes and slow response may be because of memory management. There is definitely a delay while doing a screen unlock (upto 5 seconds).
As far as benchmarks are concerned we got an Average score of 1650 on Quadrant Benchmark.

Camera (A mega pixel Camera is missing)
VGA camera is available at the front of the device to make low resolution video chats.  You can enjoy video chats using various apps like Tango , Skype etc.

Battery (Average)
This Tablet is packed with 2800mAh Battery which is good enough to give you average usage time of 5-6 hours.

Connectivity
Funbook offers Micro USB port with USB OTG functionality to attach your USB storage devices with the tablet. Apart from OTG you have a HDMI port and microSD card for expanding the memory storage.
Tablet has WiFi connectivity to connect with internet and has an option to use TATA Photon+ 3G USB dongle to access internet on the go. There is again a limitation that you can`t use any other 3G USB dongle.

Multimedia capabilities
Funbook is good device for watching videos and movies because of 7 inch screen size. The only dampener is the screen resolution apart from this you can play different formats using inbuilt video player or downloading more capable players from Play Store.
MicroMax has included some preloaded content and apps on the device for entertainment and education as they are advertising in media.

Final Words
MicroMax Funbook is creating buzz in market because of low price and huge media advertising. It’s a good enough android tablet to impress you specially if you looking something in low price range.

You can buy this Tablet online in one time payment or EMI from FlipKart.
