Get Google now like information on Any Android Phone without rooting


Google launched Jelly Bean this with highlights of Project Butter, Google now and offline voice typing. Well there were number of other improvements over the last ICE Cream Sandwich OS but surely Google Now and its card were the most exciting features of Android Jelly Bean 4.1. If you are on older versions of Android (except Jelly Bean) and you device is not in the list of device manufacturers to get 4.1 jelly bean update then you probably on search for some Google NOW alternative. So let`s discuss about a GTalk feature which may not exactly be as easy as using NOW, but it still serves the purpose. Read on for details.

** This is not exactly as Google now but kind of GTalk Shortcuts to get useful information easily **

** You don’t need any rooting or hacking for this. It’s purely a Google Lab feature with GTalk and can be used on any device capable of GTalk. **

So, here’s the procedure.

1. Login to Gtalk
2. Add guru@googlelabs.com to your contact list.
3. Initiate a chat with guru@googlelabs.com
4. Send a message as Hi and you will get reply about the commands you can use.

5. Listed below are few of the commands
Web
weather
Score 
Define
Translate
6. You can always Type Help <Command> for the detailed syntax

Example: To view weather in your city, type “Weather ”, in the chat window. In reply you receive the latest weather report. Or you may find a web link to the respective information.
